Training Drills for Paintball : Bunker Tactics in Paintball

This is Robert Stewart with hill13.com. The
next thing we’re going to talk about is bunkers. Not so much as a dynamic drill, but things
to consider when you’re in game play. Inside the bunker people have a tendency to want
to watch their right side, usually because they’re right handed. So they tend to see
this side and not what’s behind them. One of the things you have to be able to do, and
you should train yourself to do, is be able to fire from either hand. When you’re inside
the bunker, don’t just watch one particular angle. In this particular construct, unless
I had people immediately behind me, I would be checking the perimeter three hundred and
sixty. Another thing you have to remember in working a bunker, is that some times you
want to give some deception to your opposing forces, so that they can’t really figure you
out. Which means blind firing some times, if you know there’s an opponent on the far
side of the field at that box, you may not be able to hit him, but if a team member needs
you to put some pressing fire on him, you can long ball all that distance. So you have
to remember to fire from over here, fire from over here, and keep up the impression that
there are more people inside this bunker than there actually are.
