Posca Pens | Art and chat

Posca Pens | Art and chat

Hello so, I haven’t really got a plan very
much for this video I’m just going to do a draw and chat type thing, I’m not going to
record a voice over, It’s just going to be an in the moment type thing. I haven’t drawn or painted anything for a
while so, kinda just wanted to get my sketchbook out and draw something, I don’t really know
exactly what this is going to be just yet, I found a photo that I really like that I
kinda want to have a go a. I have some new Posca Pens, I got a few new
colours while I was in Australia so I thought I would have a go at using them. I don’t know what this video is going to be,
I just want to make something, its going to be quite relaxed. And its probably going to be noisy outside
because one of my neighbours is sawing and drilling stuff so we’ll see! Yeah, I’m going to have a little go at sketching
out a house, and we’ll see what i can do with the colours I’ve got! So here we go! Thats was akready supposed to be a straight
line so we’re getting off to a great start. the thisng about this drawing is that I dont
want to draw exactly what in the photograph, I want to kind of stylise and simplify it
, change some of the perspective. A lot of my art I feel like I have to plan
it all out and make sure ots going to be proper and make sure im not going to ruin it, but
sometimes, you just need to possible ruin it. So, lets just go for it, yeah! Lets just go for it. Im going tp rub out these lines a lot more,
the thing with some of these Posca’s, although Posca’s are meant to be quite opaque, I find
that with the white and the yellow, it isn;’t that opaque, and I dont want to rub it put
too much because I want to be able to see all these lines I’ve just made. I like using Posc’a because it’s kind of like
the easier, less messy way of using gouache paints, because their opaque-ness but then
it does annoy me that I can’t mix the colours that I want and that I am limited to the ones
I have on me. Like I wish you could mix Posca’s , I dont
knwo, maybe I should try it? I don’t know how well it will work, I dont
want to screw up the pens too much. I ust realised I wasn’t supposed to colour
this all in, because of the leaves, nevermind, we’ll just do the leaves over the top. If we wait for the pink to dry it will be
alright. I think I’m going to do the lighter colour,
you can always make the lighter colour darker is the way i’m going to look at it. thsi is another new colour, “Sky Blue”, I
like all these muted shades, you don’t really get these interesting colours in UK stores,
you only get your primary colours, you get, yellow, purple blue, you get a couple of shades
of blue. But most of them are the standard, you dont
get the muted colours which I prefer for ny artwork. Do I not have any black Posca’s? Ohh, it’s on my pencil case! It’s okay, Knew I had a thin black one somewhere! I think my white one os slight broken, because
whenever I try and press it down it seems to just creatre and explosion of paint. Like, this grey one did over here. It just all comes out of the, it doesnt come
out of the tip, it all comes out of the end part of the pen rather than the tip. Which is annoying beccause it happened to
me while I was on an airplane, so not the best time you want to be dealing with a pen
explosion. Yeah, I just managed to spill an entire blob
of this colour all over my piece, so. I guess one kind of downside to Posca’s is
that a lot of the time when you are pressing them down they’ll just kind of blurt out a
tonne of ink you really didn’t want all over your work. It’s got quite a neat look to this but I really
like the scribbly effect of the trees. I feel like its working quite well. I think we’re almost there, I think this is
kind of, I[ll wait until it’s dry and then I’ll rub out all the pencil marks, Maybe add
a few more bits of detail in but yeah for the most part I’m pretty happy with this. Let’s take the tape off, I think taking the
tape off is a good indication of how well it worked. I feel like I should of given it a background
but it would be too hard now with the trees in. Not too bad, I quite enjoyed this and I hope
you enjoyed this kind of chatty, casual video. If you liked it you can give it a like, subscribe,
help me get to 1000, that would be super helpful. Yeah and comment what sort of st, blehh, I
cant speak, what kind of stuff you’d like to see more of, if you would like to see more
stuff like this, more casual, maybe I could do more talk and art videos more often as
well as just speed paints. Yeah, thank you very much for watching! See you next time! Bye!
