PAINTING WITH MARKERS

PAINTING WITH MARKERS

[Music] so today we’re gonna use markers for coloring our drawing and there are a lot of like brands I’m gonna be using the Copic markers and the prismacolor markers as well these ones could be really expensive but they do a job really well and then we also gonna use these long markers which has like a brush on one side and then a fine side and the other one then for some details we’re gonna use color pencils and again it’s not about the brand there’s a mix of colored pencils tears and these ones are for kids that you can buy in the supermarket actually the Crayola ones are the ones I use when I was a kid I still got them so we’re gonna be mixing these with the markers to create our drawing that’s it before we start our drawing just make sure that you always put a piece of paper underneath the actual drawing so the marker doesn’t bleed through it which is really important because then if you know you’re gonna get a lot of bleep on the other in the next page so just make sure that you align it properly before you start painting so before I start painting we’re gonna start with that color of the skin but before that I normally like to test on the side a few of the colors just to see which ones I like better in which one’s apply better to the actual drawing so we’re gonna do a general pass on the skin and again this is really fast you just want the first pass of the color so and go quick we’re gonna drive really fast in the face I normally go with the brush side of the marker I’m gonna go to that my hands just feel really quick good quarter and again if you see the sketch it’s really rough and I’m not concerned about that because we are just improvising and then the thicker side and I’m just gonna apply it you see that’s the beauty of this side I can just go straight lines then feel it way faster you know here there’s gonna be a watch so just get that in here I start thinking already in the shadow I know I’m gonna put a shout out there later so let’s feel the hand you know going really fast just the first pass on the skin now the legs legs are risking I’m going to stay with this side of the marker and then feel it really quick the first pass of the skinny Sun if you see is really quick so again just like the skiing I’m gonna feel just a first pass of the shorts don’t worry about what direction you use when painting because normally in like an art school stuff they tell you to worry about this the direction and you should be on the same direction all the time but if you actually change the direction it will give you a texture so we’re done with the shorts now here I keep the course like that I use I keep in the side to remember if I need to go back to them so I think now we’re just gonna add some colors to the actual shirt china is gonna be white but I’m gonna give some accents to specific places with with a red already I’m thinking ahead of which colors I’m going to use and so I know there’s gonna be red there I’m gonna do a second layer for the scheme for the shadows so I’m gonna try other markers to see what I can get again I don’t care if it looks messy the drawing because I’m just doing it for fun and it’s my drawing my rules this is really simple but it just separates the leg from short later on with pencil I’m gonna make this shadow stronger and I know here there’s gonna be a watch so I’m gonna create a little simple shadow in this side for the watch really same the angles I’m gonna add a shadow here in the skin it is created by the hand [Music] so you see just with that it’s already keeping some details now I’m gonna start adding details to the face and for that I’m gonna start using the color pencils so let’s let’s grab this – mmm yeah like this one so I’m gonna be using a normally tested once I’d like markers and then I look for a more light color maybe you know this one yellow brownish follow the sketch make new lines so his eyes are really small so just with the pencil I’m gonna you you can barely see them so just with a line it describes the shape then really so I’m just gonna create the contour of the nose which we’re gonna fill with a different color when I switch to an orange this just free and I’m gonna add dots to the skin to create a texture you can this is random then I’m gonna add red to specific places here the area of the elbow yeah then I use a brown or a green gonna test both of them first I’m gonna test the colors again so I’m gonna use these brown these green so had some win at rate I’m gonna try to create my pattern once the lines are done and then I go with the brown and then feel the gaps so now with this color I’m just gonna go over the outlines of the skin color and it’s really fast doesn’t matter if it’s a sketch rough sketch I’m gonna do the same but now for the shirt I’m gonna create an outline so I’m gonna use this color I need to sharpen first so with this color I’m gonna create the outline for the shirt the shirt is white so I’m just gonna use nine different colors so next I think let’s see I think we can do the shadow on the ground first then after that I guess we can just move to the eyebrows which is with it’s gonna be done with a white gel and now it’s just a matter of making sure we we feel like the drawing is standing on the ground that’s really important it doesn’t need to be super complicated just some shadow to show that it’s standing and it’s not floating on a empty page so I normally leave these as the final step first let’s make sure it works I’m making bushy eyebrows so there’s no specific direction just improvise I’m gonna use a gray coat or just to give accent to the white [Music] you
