Hey everyone it’s Sarah here and welcome back to my c hannel where I do arty videos every Friday! in this video I am joined
by a very special guest – it’s my mother
Mum: Hello! Sarah: it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday here in
England and so we thought it would be fun to do something like a
mother-daughter tutorial thing so yeah
Mum: Mum:’cause we love each other so much! Sarah:I hate her really. if you’re stuck for ideas for something to
do on Mother’s Day this is a good thing to do so we’ve got some rocks
Mum: they’re pebbles
Sarah: pebbles sorry – pebbles that we’ve got from the garden and beaches
Mum: Heart shaped pebbles
Sarah: We’ve got some
shells we’ve got some other bits and pieces so what we’re gonna do is paint
on some rocks and some pebbles and stuff we’re using just regular acrylic paint
which you can get from pretty much any art shop ever for cheap we’ve also got
some of these paint pens we’ve got some random colors primary colors we’ve got
some gold ones I think we’ve got some pens.
Mum: We’ve also got a nail to make specks
Me: Yeah we;ve ot a nail, we’ve got all sorts of bits and pieces and yeah, we’re just gonna get stuck in. So yeah. Also, something Ishould say is that there’s a book here that I think is really good mum’s been
using this for inspiration it’s mandala mandala stones 50
inspirational designs to paint and it’s got some really interesting bits and
pieces and I’ll leave a link in the description or you can get that because
it’s really good and I don’t know if you wanted to use that for reference?
Mum: Well I actually bought you that for Christmas but Ilked it so much I kept it for myself! Sorry!
Sarah:Well I’m taking it! Its mne now. So you can take any rock from your garden if you have just
taken it from the garden I’d recommend washing them first so you get all the dirt off them, that’s right isn’t it?
Mum: Yeah, I’ve done that. Sarah: Mums the expert! Mum: The expert cleaner! Sarah: So what started you off painting pebbles? Mum:Well… I’ve always liked collecting pebbles from the
Sarah: And shells. Mum: And shells, yes anything on the beach really
anything to do with the seaside particularly heart-shaped pebbles. all pebbles are lovely I particularly like them they’re quite
hard to find and they’re unusual Sarah: you’ve got a few pebbles that are sort
of like oh but not quite heart shapes Mum: Yeah, they’ve all got they’re own individuality haven’t they?
Sarah:Yeah. Mum: and it’s just the colors on to them
and the feel of them that I love yeah and when I saw that book that’s really
nice Sarah would enjoy that.
Sarah: And then you stole it!
Mum: But then Isaid you know what, I really enjoy this too. I never liked art before never like time
when I was at school.
Sarah: I remember you told me not that long ago that you weren’t
Mum: I’m not really, I just do hearts and circles
Sarah: it is creative though, the way you’ve
done them all differently, it’s really nice
Mum: and things like a mandala
Sarah: well the
motto of my videos is anyone can be creative
Mum:Well I’m proof of that. Ihaven’t got a creative bone in my body but I really enjoy this it’s a
therapeutic as well. Sarah: Yeah it’s really relaxing. even if you do mess up like what I’m doing right now. no Mum: they always look nice when they’ve had the
lacquer sprayed over them it really brings the colors out.
Sarah: don’t we do at the
Mum: yeah when they dry – outside ’cause it’s very smelly. craft sealer it’s just a little
one from hobby craft. They’re not very epensive are they? Mum: Ican’t remmber what I paid, but not very much no .Sarah: just makes them last longer
Mum: yeah and it really brings out and makes them come alive, makes the colors
more vibrant ok that’s the end of today’s video
