Painting a Castle! on a graduation CAP

Painting a Castle! on a graduation CAP

Hey guys, I as commissioned by a friend to
paint her graduation cap and she wanted something like a Disney castle. So I started sketching her castle with a white
gel pen and so I thought to myself I should probably be filming this and so there you
have it i filmed this process. I started painting using acrylic paints and
i quickly noticed how much the cloth of the cap was absorbing the paint. You can see how quickly the color is gone
specially in this time lapse. I had to paint layers and layers to just get
it right. After a while I started adjusting and started
to apply more paint to my brushes you can start to see the difference around this point. Now i’m going to paint the upper part of
the castle by mixing these different colors to create this pinkish color which resembles
the Disney castle color. Now this time I start off with a loaded brush
to avoid the dilution of the color by the cloth. Now something I shouldn’t have done was
painted these gold trimmings of the castle. I probably should have painted the blue roof
tiles first, however it all worked out in the end. Now I mix the paint for the blue roof of the
castle, I add some black and white to turn down the dominance that pure blue would have
on this castle by its self. Now with a smaller brush and different colors
I start to add more and more details such as the flags at the bottom and the window
frames in the center of the castle. By the way guys at the very very end of the
video I show the cap completely finished with sparkly letters and other sparkly stuff that
i didn’t actually work on in this video so I would stick around if you want to see
that. Now to add some extra fine detail I bring
back my white gel paint to show the blocks of the castle. I also start using my brush pen to show even
more details, but also some shadows. Now i start to use my white gel pen to add
some highlights mainly the reflections found in the roof of the castle. Now I just end by adding a lot of details
with my white gel pen and with my brush pen. Well there you have it you guys the castle
is finalized and if you liked this video gif it a like and also leave comments below you
know, I like to answer your questions and everything. Let me know if you like these sort of videos
I actually do a lot of random projects and i should probably be filming them more but
yeah. Anyways heres a picture of the completed cap
with all of the sparkly stuff added at the end. Anyways thanks and thanks for subscribing
see you guys later.
