Painted Rock Owl #1 Beginner Tutorial with Paint Pens

okay here is my second video with painting
with posca I basically grabbed all the colors in a couple different sizes rather just than
thin ones because its faster to use the bigger ones when I can I’m going to make just this
little owl I’m going to try to stick with just one but sometimes I can’t help myself
I feel like I can’t make a bunch at one time So i’m going to stick with one I hope so here
how I am going to start I’m going to make this owl here and I’m going to start with
the eyes and so I don’t really use anything to measure these and sometimes you can obviously
tell sorry about that table being bumped my son is moving around next to me okay so there
is that and then next comes a little bit of a triangle on the top here and here we go
come down to make the beak now the bottom of this guy is round but I’m going to first
i’m going to do this so that I can have basically like a circle half circle behind here will
just do a bunch of half circles basically one for each cheek hopefully you can see all
this very well as I get more of these done I’m going to get much better at the videoing
as well okay so there is that its pretty thick I didn’t want it to be that thick but that’s
okay its going to be fine because I’ll be able to go over here I go right mow I’m doing
the circle for the bottom going to use as much as I can of the rock here there we go
and that’s about just a couple more strokes of the pen and we are going to be done with
that way easier than the first one so then I give the eyelids then some eyeballs then
when i come through here will add some more color and that is the basics there so now
I’m going to just to start coloring where I can and i’m going to be using a little bit
bigger posca to try to make this a little faster for everyone including my children
there is that and purple this light purple i have only found it in this size but it always
needs a couple coats if you did white in the background or one of the lighter colors that
would suffice Its just hard to come by white pens because go through white so quickly just
try to save it as much as i can color the eyelids there we go and I’m going to do eyes
green here okay now my paints are a little too far out
of frame for me to grab this is another one that is going to be light this rock would be good to go around
with white in the background because once its going to be sprayed with the spray sealant
its going to get pretty dark so you don’t want to have basically your work you did to
make your work clean go away so just highlighting it with that white would make is so the lines
would still be see able everyone seems to be into owls so I thought that this would
be a good one plus I also had one I did just a little bit ago and I’m going to do pink
my pink always get mixed in with different colors and sometimes its not pink there is that and we will do some blue
that’s the next one you could even use some void of color I’ve seen a couple rocks like
that and now here we are with the white you could also do dots here to make the eyes look
more twinklier Now all we have to do is wait for it to dry and then add the colors again
one more time so I’m going to pause it here and pick up after Ive done the second coat
okay I’m back the pink isn’t quite dry I think it could probably use one more coat I’m kind
of done with this so I’m going to go ahead and outline it I really want to do the white
outline to show you how that looks I’m just going to do the black and then I’m going to
go ahead and do the white outline on the outside and it’s going to look a little different
than this one so here I go just go with how I started with the triangle and the eyes there
we go Its not dry enough yet there so I am going to have to go back do that one Dexter
my son is by me here my other son is in the other room playing mine-craft so if you hear
him yelling it’s that he gets very animated I’m doing this a little shaky its okay they
have feathers its fine no one cares so give this a little more detail right a little more
texture there is that that one and here I;m going to go back up here and still wet see
not quite ready still that will do just fine now i’m going to do just the white on the
outside just easy peasy just gotta follow your black line is all and make sure you don’t
blend it with any of the black that still wet that you just did cause otherwise you have gray and that happens its really difficult bumps the table on these
lines but life isn’t perfect and neither are my rocks I say there it is I hope this is
going to be good for you and I hope that if you do it you could make minor charges or
whatever you want to make it fun have a good evening
