Paintball Tips & Tricks : How to Make a Paintball Gun Silencer

Hello, my name is Scott McKay, and we’re going
to talk about building paint ball silencers today. Before you get started with this project,
you may want to check with local authorities and with your local paint ball store to make
sure that it is something they will allow you to put on your marker if you come to play
there. I run pretty much a private field, so I can run whatever I really want to on
it in my area. Not a whole lot of materials needed to build a simple one, some 3/4 inch
PVC pipe, as long as you really want to build it, 1/4 inch hole drills through it, try to
keep them even, because it can put kind of a funky spin on the paint ball, two couplers.
You’ll have to do a little bit of work with drilling tools, it’s very easy to have if
you’re going to do this type of project, you’re going to need some PVC primer and some PVC
cement, duct tape, a sediment filter is what the kit has been recommended. Very simple
once you get this drilled how you want, you need a 12 gage shotgun board brush to de-burn
a little bit, use the drill to come around the edges on everything where paint a paint
ball might travel through so it doesn’t get caught and broke. You’ll have to pretty much-
the coupler would have to be made to the barrel that way you get a good tight fit, there’s
some you can make that can go back further and use set screws to hold on with. The assembly
is very easily, you put it through the sediment filter, put the way your caps on, and it slides
right on. That’s the unfinished project, the finished project once you wrap it with tape
or put more PVC on the outside and caps, would look something like that. Very simple to build,
very neat project, something to surprise your friends whenever you go out to the next game.
