Paintball Tips & Tactics : Laning Suppression Fire Tips for Paintball

Hello this is Rob Rubin and you’re watching
Expert Village. In this episode we’re going to talk about suppression fire. Suppression
fire is an important thing, especially if you are a back fighter because it inhibits
the movement of the other time. The best way to get suppression fire is, well I hate to
say it, but having a decent paintball marker. In having a decent paintball marker you can
just, uh, uh, other gun please, thank you. When you are laning down suppression fire
you need a fairly fast gun so that you can actually keep up with it, you need a fast
hopper so that the hopper can keep up with the rate of fire of the marker, decent air
tank, a decent regulator on the air tank so that you will have a constant flow of air
coming to the gun. If you are missing any one of these steps, then your paint gun is
going to falter no matter how fast you can twiddle your fingers. Also in suppression
fire you are basically just throwing up a wall of danger. You are putting up a wall
of paint that has some degree of variance. The reason for that is the paintball. Paintballs
are gelatin filled, they have dimples on them, there is a seam down the middle. It’s amazing
that we can actually eliminate anybody in this game let alone doing it accurately. So
you’re going to be throwing down a wall of paint with the hope that it makes it dangerous
for somebody to run through. There are times that you lane and there are times that you
don’t lane. You lane off of the break because you are going to be making a good assumption
that somebody on the other team is going to be making a position and you are going to
make it dangerous for them to run through that position. What not to do: you do not
lane after the break when you are sitting in your bunker and you are shooting at one
guy. If you do that, you have the gun blinders on and you can’t see the side around you and
you are going to be shot by somebody. Not only am I playing stupid back here but I am
playing stupid by turning my hopper on. One other thing about laning, yea, I know it is
a lot of fun to shoot an electronic paintball marker at 15 balls per second but be mindful
of teammates who are crossing your path. You don’t know how many times I have seen people
get shot in the back of the head because of the stupidity of the guy behind him.
