Press Shift + A>Mesh>Plane to add new plane Select Cycles Render Engine, switch to Edit Mode>Press U to unwrap Split windows Add a vector node Normal Map and connect to Displacement Add an Image Texture Node and select Non-Color data in the Color Space list. Next, connect to Normal Map. Create new image and name as Paint to paint on this image. Switch to Texture Paint Mode First, select light blue in the Color panel and set Strength=1 Add new alpha brush and select Alpha Brush to paint Start painting with light blue color Then, select White color to paint Add another Image Texture node Create new image to contain the baked texture Select Bake texture in the Available Paint Slots list Bake Normal Map to Bake texture Set light and the color of the plane in the scene Display Normal Map in Rendered Viewport Shading Compare the result when paint with light blue color and white color. Press F3 to save normal map image.
