NEW Sharpie Brush Pen Demo – Blending Markers, Brush Tip Pens, Sharpies

hey YouTube it’s Chelle with The
Lemonade Store! Hope you guys are doing well! I just wanted to take a minute and
show you what I got at Target today and show you the new Sharpie brush pens.
Let’s go take a look. Alright, so I got the 12 count brush pens and it
comes with this case and this was $19.99 at Target today and I think I’ve seen it
on Amazon as well so I can link to those just to make it easier for you guys
below. let me get some scissors but I’m kind of excited about this because one
you if you’ve seen my other Sharpie videos i’ll i really like sharpies. One of the first brush pens I’ve used was them was the big ones kind of those
really thick, big ones let me show you one of those so we can compare. so this is the
original Sharpie brush and it’s a big fat barrel with this tip on it and I
actually like lettering with that but the ink it’s not very juicy you know
what I mean like it runs out really quite easily so cute look at the case
that it comes in that’s nice zip and for Best Performance store your pens
horizontally okay nice tip okay so let’s check it out
let’s do some let’s do some switching maybe we can see if they’ll blend I’m
assuming it’s still alcohol-based ink this is a really nice case though I’m
sorry if the audio is a little bit funky I’m just using my phone today cuz these
were jokes I was so excited about this I’m like I gotta show I gotta show you
people okay so I’m using right now for the first bit I’m gonna use 32 pound
paper and that I will link below that’s the thicker paper and it’s super smooth
so I just want to make sure that while I’m testing it okay so here is the
original Sharpie brush marker that’s how thick it is and it bleeds through
usually so or it could so I’m using it on the back of a watercolor book and
then here is the black oh it’s nice it’s then it’s juicy cool I like it all right let’s see what
we got here I’m also gonna test it on some watercolor paper so this is I’m
just gonna do some squiggle ease for these just so we can see the colors
okay blue dark blue light blue I’ll go through these kind of quickly just so
you guys can don’t have to watch me do each one and then I’ll meet you back and
we’ll try them out on another piece of paper like a watercolor or a mixed-media
and see how they do okay so on the box it actually says that
it stores easily access completely refillable with any Sharpie brush pen I
guess they just mean the case you could put another sharpie brush pen in there I
don’t know what that means it’s a smear fade and water resistant
ink so let’s put that to the test alright I’m gonna move my swatch grab
some watercolor paper and let’s just test out some of the colors so I kind of
want to do like let’s see if we get blending all right so I’m just gonna and these are much
thinner kind of like a tombow food Mesut gave maybe a little bit bigger or like a
haritaki Zig it’s like it’s like that size so you can get pretty good thin
strips and if you press down it looks like hard enough you can get a pretty
good sized downstroke okay looks like it they blend pretty well look at that okay
I’m gonna I’m just testing it out and I’ll tell you guys how I’m how am i
doing it I like it check that out Wow that looks great okay
so I have my green I started out with the lighter color I think that’s pretty
close to the lighter color then you’re gonna take your next color and you know
get pigment on the paper go back to your light color and blend in
that top line and what’s nice is that there’s the ink isn’t super fast drawing
it looks like so that you can get that blend if it dries super fast it’d be
hard to get the blending saying don’t forget if you need to rinse
off your marker on a scratch piece of paper I like it
actually I like it a lot caps on everything okay okay so this is
watercolor paper that I’m using which is allowing it to probably not dry as fast wow that looks great so here’s the three
colors that were used to blend it was light green light blue and dark blue and
these are the sharpie and it’s brush the new sharpie friends so I’m just curious
let’s take let’s take our line here of our the old version it’s a good totally
different ink I don’t think we can even see all right like immediately kind of soaps
and on it it’s like oh this is like regular alcohol that’s super thick thick
alcohol ink so you can kind of go in and pick in the line and try and get it to
bleed but now I don’t think that is working so that’s kind of interesting
they don’t really work with other sharpies just like with each other and
then I want to do one more test let’s see what it looks like
with water so it says it’s water-resistant so kind of been a while
let me hit it with the heat gun just to be fair grab my watercolor brush
and mmm it’s still kind of smearing so maybe it needs to dry longer on the
watercolor paper but it kind of I could see how I could give you a pull shadow
effect that was pretty good I mean maybe I just another let it dry it long enough so yeah I think that’s pretty cool
all right hope this helps and like I said I saw these at Target and I’m
pretty sure they’re on Amazon too so I’ll just stick the links for you guys
below thanks you guys so much for watching and I appreciate those likes if
you liked the video and leave a comment below I’d love to know what you guys
want to learn what you want to see more of and also you know I recently moved
and I took over the dining room and I made that my studio so if you guys would
like a studio tour I’ll show you what I’ll show you how I kind of turn my
dining room into a studio thanks you guys have a great day
