How to Play Paintball : Paintball Parties & Rules

On behalf of Expert Village, I’m Dan Foss
and here to tell you about paintball. Arizona Paintball Adventures does parties, and therefore,
for people who have never played before, you want to call them ‘newbies’. What people will
do is they’ll call us and will ask us to put together a scenario, something that they will
like to do. We did a revolution, where we had twenty people on each side to form a line,
and they actually marched toward each other shooting the markers at each other, it was
a lot of fun. We have nightball, we have glow in the dark paint, we have blacklight hoppers,
we have done a lot of this. We’ll take people out and be there for safety, and show them
how to use the marker, setup their equipment, take them out and referee the game. There
are several different games people are playing now. Capture flag is one of the games people
like to play, which there’ll be a center flag, or have to capture the other team’s flag.
We have four corners, where everyone breaks up into four teams where you have to collect
a flag from the opposing team’s side and bring it back to your command post to win the game.
We have a total elimination where last man standing, this is kind of like, if anyone
has played Halo, they know what it means to say slayer, and that is what we do is slay
each other. It is just a form of tag, it is a lot of fun. We dial all the markers down
to around two hundred and seventy five feet per second, this is a good safety margin.
Do to the fact the paintball gobbles it, we are only rated for two hundred and twenty
five feet per second and there is a little bit of a margin, but we want to make sure
no one gets hurt. Our rules of engagement is to give everyone a chance to surrender
if you were ever to flank them or come up behind them and sneak up on them, you just
don’t want to shoot them, you ask them to surrender, and if he’s smart he’ll just raise
his marker up in the air and surrender. If he turns his marker on you, then you want
to try to not hurt him by shooting him in the foot, gun, the buttocks is a good spot,
if it happens to be there for you, one on each cheek. We want to give them a chance
to surrender, so you don’t hurt them. There is a lot of guys out there who don’t care
about this, they are basically rebel players, they want to get involved, and they want to
get down and play, sandals and a thong, they’ll run around out there like this. We get different
ages, we don’t recommend anyone under the age of ten or eleven year old, because we
don’t want to scare them off. We want to teach them good sportsmanship and how to work together
with other people, team concepts. We want to teach them how to logistically work on
different missions we may have.
