How to paint with coffee

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday. Here’s your
weekly dose of inspiration to build a creative habit, one drawing at a time,
brought to you by sketchbook skool. Today we are using coffee, not just to
drink. We will also use a pen and some watercolors. You can make a fantastic
background using coffee. Just use the bottom of a small cup like an espresso
cup to make small coffee stain rings. Just keep adding as much as you like and
then when you’re done leave it to dry. Now that the background has dried, I am
going to draw my three favorite kinds of coffees. I’m using a waterproof pen for
this and I am just making line drawings. I’m not stressing about the perspective.
This is just a playful drawing. It’s an illustration so it doesn’t have to be
accurate as long as it looks fun. Now I’ll also just write down the
ingredients for each coffee variation and the names in Italian. Now I think
this looks kind of cool already but it needs just a little bit of color so I
will take out my watercolors and I will add just that little bit of color that
indicates that this is strong coffee. I hope this inspires you to do a little
bit of a caffeinated piece of art! Have fun and if you need more inspiration, pay
a visit to sketchbookskool.com and sign up for one of the classes today
