How to make Oil Paint

Moin Finally I have all the things I need to make my own oil paint and now I want to try it for the first time So.. thing one need for it A mortar
I’ve bought this great marble one Then, very important: Pigments
One also can use
pastel chalks if one grind it well I also plan to do that when I’m making colored paint the first times For my next paintings, if it’ll work with making the black paint,
i’ll make my own paint more often. It’s much cheaper And I think it’s totally awesome if one can pretend that
one is using his/her selfmade oil paint for his/her paintings And as next one needs linseed oil. That’s not hazard-free because it’s
oxydizing very well and if one’s careless it could even inflame. If one spill something out and one wipe it away with a
cloth, the cloth could inflame if one forget to clean it So: Use it with caution One also need turpentine to make the paint go further At first I’ll decant some of the linseed oil in a smaller bottle so that I
can dose it better, the bottle contained turpentine before. I’ll decant it with a funnel hmmm… smells like oil paint It’s important that you close the bottle if you don’t need it, so
that it doesn’t oxidize that much and you don’t torch your house It does need time until it inflames but just in case. Next step Great, black oil paint made from personal fabrication And now priming a canvas for a little painting
I’m planning to do at the weekend
