How to Make DIY Wrapping Paper for All Your Gifts

Hi everyone and welcome to the Simply Stamps
channel! Today, I’m going to be showing you how to
wrap a present with your own “do it yourself” wrapping paper. I’ll start off with the supplies I have here. This is just plain, brown wrapping paper found
at your local craft store. I have some yarn we’re going to use to tie
around it whenever we’re done wrapping the present. I have a few craft stamps and some craft ink. This is my bicycle craft stamp – I love this
stamp – it’s probably one of my favorites. And then I have the heart-shaped sunglasses
and you can kind of tell we’re dreaming of summer with these two. These are both found on Simply Stamps and
they come mounted on a wood block. You can remove them if you’d like, they’re
pretty easy to remove, if you want to use them with an acrylic block or you can just
order them unmounted. I personally like the wood block. I know that might be me being old-fashioned,
but I do like it this way. I feel like it’s just the best way for me
to really get a good impression. Next, I have a couple of Color Box inks. This is my sailboat ink, it’s like a dark
blue color, you’ll see it in a minute. And then this is the cranberry ink, it’s cranberry
colored very simply. I also have a couple paint markers, gold and
silver, I’ll show you what we’re going to do with these in a minute. Then I have of course tape and scissors, some
scratch paper to test my impressions, and that’s it! Let’s get started! So I’m just going to unroll this wrapping
paper. Normally, I would measure it out and see exactly
how much I’m going to need, but this is actually not the only present this person’s going to
get. I love them very much and it’s almost their
birthday, so I’m going to go ahead and cut a pretty big piece of wrapping paper. The awesome thing about homemade wrapping
paper is it can be anything you want it to be. Whether it’s a wedding present, or a birthday
present, or a graduation present, baby shower present, etc. – there’s a craft stamp out
there for just about any occasion. Simply Stamps has an awesome selection of
craft stamps and you can really design whatever paper you need for whatever occasion
it is that you have. So I’m just going to put a couple things down
here and make the paper stop rolling up on me. And let’s get stamping! So, I’m going to start with my favorite stamp
– the bicycle stamp – as I mentioned before. And I’m going to use the sailboat ink. So, first things first, I’m just going to
get this stamp inked up and I like to do a test impression first just to see. You can see it comes out pretty flawless. I love these stamps. So, I’m just going to add some more ink and
get stamping. And there are my bicycle stamps! So now, I’m going to get started with the
heart-shaped sunglasses. And I’m going to use the cranberry colored
ink for this. Same thing as the bicycle, I’m just going
to get it inked up and then I’m going to test out the impression. Once again, it looks pretty flawless. And my sunglasses stamps are done! So, next, I’m going to take the silver paint
marker. Once again, I just got this at the local craft
store, Hobby Lobby. And I’m just going to draw little designs
around the stamps and add just a little bit more to this fun paper. Alright and my wrapping paper’s done! Pretty cute, huh? So now what I’m going to do is – wrap my present! And that’s it, my present’s wrapped. Now I’m just going to add a little extra with
some yarn. You can use ribbon, I just really like the look of yarn. And there it is! All cute and packaged, ready to go. I hope you’ve enjoyed this tutorial today! If you liked this video, please be sure to
