How to clean paint brushes – Dutch Art Box


In this tutorial we will show you how to
clean water colour, acrylic and oil brushes. Here’s how to clean your
water colour brushes. Rinse your brush in clean water. By wiping it off on tissue paper you can see if there is any left. If so repeat the process. Reshape your brush with your fingers and store it in an upright position. Cleaning your acrylic brushes. Wipe the
excess paint off on a piece of paper. Rinse the brush in some clean water. We
use a general liquid household soap for cleaning brushes. Massage some liquid
household soap into the bristles to get rid of any leftovers. Repeat this process
until the brush is clean and you see no more paint. Shape your brush with your
fingers and store in an upright position. Here’s how you clean your oil brushes. Wipe the excess paint off on a paper towel. Massage the soap into the bristles.
Rinse off and repeat until the brush is clean. Check it on a paper towel to see
if any paint comes out, if it does repeat the process. Reshape your brush with your fingers and
store in an upright position. We never use turpentine as this is bad for your skin your lungs and the environment, not to
mention your brushes. Take care of your brushes these are your very best friends.
