How to clean a paint BRUSH (Latex Paint)… PROPERLY! – Tutorial, T2

what is the proper way to clean a brush good morning, lets get rid of this gum alright so today we’re gonna do a tips and tricks on how to clean your brush properly properly it’s a little dry you know tutorial and all we hope you enjoy so you don’t want to dip your brush deeper than this now I’m gonna show you instead of telling
you so you can use regular dish soap okay so let’s take the brush some warm water and some cold water you don’t want it to be too hot you don’t want to jam
the bristles straight down you want to work them from an angle gently and the key is to get as much paint out of the stalk as possible then you work the brush on the
side like this then you want to run your thumb through it make sure you get all
the paint out of the stalk what we call the stalk is the top area of the brush
what you want to do is you want to brush along the bristle a stiff bristle deck brush we like to place it on the edge work the brush
away from the stalk with the wire brush down flip it over now if you’re concerned
about your laundry sink you don’t want to damage it put a cloth down and wire
brush work that work in the dried paint because if that goes hard then you’ll lose bristle lengths and if you lose bristled lengths all of a
sudden the brush will become useless or less efficient because you want those
bristles to be able to hold as much product as possible and you want them to
bend smoothly in order to minimize the brushstrokes work the tip of the brush
always motion away from the stalk hold the brush firmly to the edge boring now
this is an old really beat-up brush that was not treated well paint has dried
inside the bristles so you might not be able to make it come alive again you
could leave the brush in some gloss off which is a product used to take the
gloss off of like oil-based paint to help minimize sanding you could take a
scraper and kind of work it gently if it’s just a little bit of dry paint in
the bristle or you got to be very gentle because the scraper is going to want to
damage the bristles make it come into formation and then put
it back into the original package or take a damp cloth and allow it slightly
damp if you’re using it again the following day then otherwise you can
spin it like that with your hands oh oh crap or you can use a spinner like that
and you’re good to go so keep that in mind thanks for watching Tips & Tricks we
