Happy New Year from Sparrow Springs – Limited Color Palette in Painting

Good Morning Youtube,
Sara here from Sparrow Springs and it’s New Years, yay!
I have a headache, I’m tired. The worst part is I went to bed at like, probably
10:30. That’s pretty pathetic, I’m such a mom
now. Arrow is with my husband, waking up, so it’s
just me and Wookie at the moment. I wanted to share a couple things for the
new year. I had it in my head I was going to try and
do a video a day for at least a month. I’m doing the first video.
I wasn’t going to start now, but as I was laying in bed I was like…
why not, why not start on January 1st. It should be good, right?
Just a few things new with Sparrow Springs this year.
I have a new collection in the works. It’s almost done.
It is going to be the last, all Bible verse, related collection.
I’m not going to stop doing Bible verse art,
but it’s going to be mixed in with just some of my regular art as well.
I’m starting to do some homeschool resources as well,
art videos coming to you. They may be short and personal like this one,
just so I can get something out, but there will be some more in depth ones
as we go along. My art tip for you today is painting, a painting
related one. Believe it or not, painting is my least favorite
medium, but it’s the one I get requested a lot.
When you are beginning painting, is to start with a limited color palette.
So get one or two blue colors, one or two red, one or two yellow, a white,
and a black. Train yourself to use your primary colors
and mix everything. You will learn so much about how color and
mixing works. It’s the one of the things that fast-tracked
my painting ability. So, there’s your art tip for today.
Hopefully we’ll be seeing you tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day.
I’m not usually an impulsive person, maybe that’s my New Years resolution.
So get on my email list when you want to hear about new videos,
free resources, new product launches, whatever it might be.
That is sparrowspringsart.com/thenest so… Happy New Year peeps! (camera falls) … Wookie!
