Georgia artist returns from Big Apple to paint, join other young creatives in Chattahoochee Valley

being a recent graduate and moving back
to Columbus, I just kind of landed here. I work on large scale, and
I needed a place where I could pin those things up on the wall and
get to work on them. What better place than a garage that has
20 feet of wall space one direction and 12 feet in another direction that
I can light any way that I’d like. My father, when he retired, he started
painting to get me to paint more, cuz he saw I had a interest. My uncle painted, my grandma painted. It was just something that
I was always around, and my parents were always good about
taking me to different art museums. And so, I was able to see a lot
of art at a early age, and I was just really drawn into that world. It spoke a lot to me. I love nature, and
I feel more inspiration here. It’s where I’m from. [BLANK_AUDIO] A lot of the artists that I’m drawn to,
they painted the places that they knew. And I knew when I graduated
that I was ready to go home and bring my experiences here and
try and capture this place. And on social media, I saw that my
friends were coming back here, and I saw that we can build something here and
have a community. And it’s a beautiful
thing to be a part of. [BLANK_AUDIO]
