Basic Paintball Tactics : Basic Paintball: Lack of Aggression

This is Robert Stewart with Hill13.com. The
bottom line, at the end of the day in paint ball, it does come down to aggression and
the controlled use of aggression. A lot of times with new players what you’ll see is
a real failure to be aggressive on the field. That usually stems from a lack of experience
and an unwillingness to want to get into the fray. You’ll see a lot of these players will
take that far defensive back position and they won’t move around a lot. But even if
you’re not that experienced a player, you have to remember that it’s a team sport and
you have to be there with your team mates to support them in the move toward the objective.
If you lay down and you don’t fire back, you’re leaving your fellow teammates in a position
where you’re not supporting them. You don’t want to run off and be super aggressive and
put yourself out there so far, that you end up compromised and exposed to shooting lanes
from all different directions with no backup. At the same time, when your team is moving
forward and they’re playing an aggressive maneuver toward the objective, you have to
remember to match that aggression and be willing to get into the game, otherwise, you’re the
forgotten defense.
