Hi, this is Robert Stewart, with Hill13.com.
Now, when we’re talking about tactics on the board, you have to keep in mind, that every
field, and every set of obstacles that you come across, are going to vary from field
to field, so these shouldn’t be taken as de facto steps, how to steps, on how you’re getting
the objective accomplished. Rather, they should inform you, and let you know how to get it
done, in a given situation, so that you can change that, from situation to situation,
and be effective in your maneuvers. Looking at the board, what we see here, is on the
break, when the game begins, and the players have formed up. You have this basic layout
between the green team and the red team, and I’ve already shown here, the general shooting
lanes, or fields of fire, for the green team. Now, what the green team’s objective is, is
to get to this flag. You could run full out, and march your people all across, but as you
can tell, if the green team has this many shooting lanes, the red team does as well,
so you have to focus your tactics, on opening up one side of the field or the other. The
way we’re going to illustrate this is, as they begin to fire on one another. The green
player here, can see a long ball shot, on this red player. When this red player is ultimately
eliminated, because he’s trying to fire back, or he’s supporting this guy’s position here.
They’ve just taken out the back, the positional defense on this side of the field, for the
flag. At this point, this player can begin working on suppressing this player’s fire.
This player is going to suppress, this side of this player. This player is going to suppress
this side, so now they’ve effectively blocked this. It’s time to eliminate this player.
This player moves here, and begins to deliver cover. This player moves up exactly on the
other side of the cover, from the red player, and then this player, while all of this suppression
fire is going down on these players, on this side of the field, can then move in and make
a sweep, and he can’t stay here, because even though these players are under fire, he’s
open and exposed ,but he can just keep running, and now we have changed the field dramatically,
on these last three players. You’ve just opened up this side of the field.
