Advanced Paintball Tactics : Advanced Paintball: Angles

This is Robert Stewart with Hill13.com. Now
we’re going to talk about angles as it applies to the ACT formula. Angles, Communication
and Teamwork. Angles, if you look at the board, isn’t just about where the shooting lanes
lay at any given moment. It’s more about your understanding, both individually and as a
team, on the effective use of those angles to meet your objective. In this case, we’re
going to assume that the flag at this point for the red team is over here somewhere and
then at this point where these where this group of players have met one another on the
paint ball field, they’re a little weak on this side as you can see with only one player
here. When each player is looking across the field and getting a sense of where the fire
is coming from, where those players are positioned. They can start communicating with one another
and letting each other know where a player is. This player can say, you know, “Bunker
12 o’clock” from his position and each of these players are going to then know that
directly in front of him is is is an opposing member of the of the red team. What these
players then have to decide and work out in a very dynamic and fluid situation is, how
to adjust the angles of their shooting lanes to eliminate this player and move their team.
So what’s going to happen is, is the team leader is going to start taking this information
in, communicate it in code or communicate it in hand signals and begin a systematic
maneuver by adjusting the angles of their shooting lanes and their relative position
on the field. They’re going to start, see if this if this green player were to move
out now, he is completely exposed to the fire of all of these other players. So so before
that before that can occur there’s going to have to be covering fire on the field here.
This player is going to have to move up and then possibly move around in this direction
to take this player. The effective use of these angles marching across the field now
that this player is eliminated, this player can now move up. A new set of angles have
opened up. Effective angles, the use of these angles will ensure that the other team is
reacting to you rather than the other way around.
